Clinical Negligence
The Clinical Negligence department at Stewarts Law combines expertise in medical issues with expertise in serious injury.
The department specialises in cases of brain injury and spinal cord injury as a result of medical accidents or substandard medical care. Our clinical negligence lawyers will examine the circumstances of your case to assess and advise you whether you have a medical negligence compensation claim.
The clinical negligence team specialises in complex catastrophic injury claims, including paralysis as a result of negligent surgery or anaesthesia and failure to diagnose spinal cord compression, brain damage caused by negligent brain surgery, including missed diagnosis (for example, a sub arachnoid haemorrhage), neurological damage (such as foot drop), mishaps with anaesthesia and severe birth injury cases.

The quality and complexity of our work is demonstrated by the multimillion pound settlements which we have obtained for our clients over the years. We regularly receive instruction from foreign nationals who have suffered injuries whilst in hospitals in the UK.
Our solicitors also undertake a substantial number of cases involving personal injuries which were exacerbated by sub-standard hospital care.
Stewarts Law holds Legal Services Commission franchises in both Clinical Negligence and Multi-Party Actions and the firm is recognised by the Legal Services Commission and other funding organisations as a leading clinical negligence practice. The clinical negligence department has also strong links with many leading medical charities including Action against Medical Accidents (AvMA).
Based in London and Leeds, with consulting offices throughout the United Kingdom, the department is headed by Muiris Lyons and the Leeds team is led by Frank Pinch.
